Message from the Head of School
Greetings Friends of PSD!
As we enter the winter months, I am proud to say that our school has been abuzz with much activity ever since the school year began. Aside from the expected teaching and learning that take place daily in our classrooms, we all have been engaged in a variety of exciting pursuits.
- Teachers have been learning how to use the latest student information systems software that will enable us to communicate with families online
and track our students’ records more easily and thoroughly.
- As for myself, I am keeping tabs on the current economic situation and making friends with state and local legislators to support PSD's mission to serve all of our children by providing the best education possible at a center school for deaf and hard of hearing children.
- Most importantly, our students have participated in a rich variety of activities: the Annual Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, a Marathon event through Students Run PhillyStyle, and Winter theme Shows by Early Childhood, elementary, middle school and junior high school students. Our high school drama class along with other members of the school gave an incredible performance for the community at large, entitled PhOZ, or the Philadelphia version of The Wizard of OZ.
- And, for those of you sports-minded visitors, please check out our sports updates and video clips of our basketball teams in action!
All of this is posted here on our website for your viewing pleasure.
Best wishes to all of you from all of us in the PSD family for a very happy holiday season and a healthy and productive new year!

Larry S. Taub, Ed.D.
