Friday Night Live

Friday Nite Live is a program developed for in-school deaf and hard of hearing high school students. In cooperation with the City of Philadelphia Department of Human Services, students ages 14 and older are able to participate in activities that will present deaf adult role models. The program is also meant to provide a safe haven for teenagers where they can socialize with each other, problem solve, be creative, as well as interact with deaf adults all in an environment where they can feel safe. Students are chaperoned by a staff of adults who can fluently communicate in American Sign Language.

Friday Nite Live is the only program of its kind in the greater Delaware Valley that offers high school students opportunities to learn to mange independently in a world where the use of sign language is not the normal mode of communication.
