Library

The school library is an integral part of the teaching and learning at PSD.  Students and staff have access to a wide variety of print and non-print materials to support their interests and needs.  In addition to over 21,000 items in the student collection, the professional library contains many sources geared to the work and learning of staff.

Groups of students come to the library each week to learn about various genres of literature, to borrow materials, to read and work in a comfortable environment, and to pursue research.  A certified librarian is available to direct and guide library customers and to manage the collection.  In addition, a full-time literature teacher teaches reading and information literacy to Elementary through Junior High School classes.

The library houses a number of computers that are linked to both PSD's intranet and the worldwide net, as well as to Power Library resources.  Extending the reach of the program beyond the walls of the school library helps prepare our 21st century learners for the future.
