Library

"A love of reading, a keen desire to know more, and a curiosity about the world are the seeds we sow!"

The library at PSD is an integral part of information literacy, reading and student achievement, 21st century skills, global learning and technology integration.  Students and staff can access a wide variety of print and non-print material to support their interests and needs.  In addition to more than 24,000 items in the student collection, our Professional Library contains many sources and special collections for staff and outside professionals. Both iPads and computer stations provide a comfortable environment for reading, working and pursuing research. Access to Pennsylvania's Power Library resources is available.

Beginning and emerging student readers interact with a Reading Specialist who works with classroom teachers to assess and plan for each student's literacy development. Classes held in the library focus on information and media literacy as well as recreational reading. Our library program connects closely with classroom units drawing on students' passions and curiosities, with a clear focus on keeping our growing collection relevant.
