The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf

Since 1984, PSD has been located in the historic Germantown section of Philadelphia and presently serves 170 students aged 3 to 15. As one of four private, <a href="charter.html">state-chartered schools</a>, PSD is reimbursed for most of its operating expenses by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and eligible youngsters attend tuition-free. However, the school also depends on <a href="donations.html">charitable contributions</a> to support captial improvements as well as to fund various special instruction programs. Also operating on the school's campus is a resource and service center for deaf and hard of hearing adults called the Center for Community and Professional Services (CCPS).
