Mission
The mission of The Center for Community and Professional
Services is to enhance, enrich, and empower the lives of deaf
and hard of hearing individuals. The realization of this mission is
dependent upon two main goals of The Center. The first is the provision
of accessible education, information, programs and services to deaf and hard
of hearing individuals. The second goal is the fostering of understanding between the deaf/
hard of hearing communities.
Program
The Center for Community and Professional Services (CCPS)
at The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) is a highly
respected regional resource center providing a comprehensive
collection of vital services and programs for deaf and hard
of hearing individuals, their families, professionals in
the field, and hearing people interested in issues involving
hearing loss. Formally opened in 1989, The Center operates as
a separate entity from PSD, each year serving more than 5,000
people from its location adjacent to the PSD campus.
